Jesus' Response to Death

In this sermon, we see the two-fold response from Jesus following the death of Lazarus. John 11 says that Jesus was "greatly troubled" and "deeply moved." He was greatly troubled by the sin that causes death yet deeply moved by the sorrow felt around Him. Jesus wept because He saw the grief and sadness that mankind was going through as a result of sin and death. As Christ followers, we can take comfort that Jesus knows our humanity and grieves with us in our sorrows. He is a loving and compassionate Savior that meets us in our suffering and shares the heavy burdens of this world.
