In this sermon, we explored how we are created to be fully known and deeply loved, but fear often leads us to hide our sin, pain, weakness, and shame. In 1 John 1:5–10, we were challenged to step out of hiding and learn to walk in the light with God and with trusted people. Vulnerable transparency does not mean telling everything to everyone, but choosing to let go of a carefully managed image and allow safe, grace-filled relationships to see what is really happening within us. Because Jesus already knows us completely and has carried our guilt and shame to the cross, we can have the courage to be honestly known. As we bring truth into the light and meet it with grace, we experience greater intimacy, healing, and freedom.
