In this sermon from James 4:1–12, we were reminded that the conflicts and quarrels we experience often reveal the sinful desires at war within our own hearts. We were challenged to recognize that these desires are rooted in worldly wisdom, which opposes God and damages our relationships with Him and with one another. We also saw the hope found in God's greater grace, as He lovingly calls us to submit to Him, humble ourselves before Him, and draw near to Him. The sermon concluded by reminding us that God alone is the righteous Judge, and our response should be one of humility, repentance, and trust in His authority.
