Frequently Asked Questions

What denomination is Solid Rock?

Technically and historically, Solid Rock Church is a Southern Baptist Church. We were originally established as a satellite campus for First Baptist Church of White Settlement in 1982 before reconstituting as Solid Rock Baptist Church of Fort Worth in 1996, becoming independent. We continue to contribute financially to the International Mission Board and our theology is closely aligned with SBC theology. However, for the past 15 years we have been seeking our identity in Biblical Truth rather than in our association with a denomination. As of 2013, we operate as Solid Rock Baptist Church of Fort Worth, DBA “Solid Rock Church”. We hold the Word of God in high regard; it establishes our identity, directs our decisions and governs our theology. Some might ask, “Does that make you a Bible church?” Others might ask, “Does that make you a non-denominational church?”

Today, Solid Rock is an exciting blend of denominational and demographic backgrounds. While we appreciate our rich Baptist heritage and we have no ill feelings towards the idea of denomination, you will find that there are no loyalties at Solid Rock that supersede our loyalty to Christ and the Truth of scripture. We operate from the conviction that we have been called to find our identity in Christ and Him alone. For this reason, we don’t spend our time or energy promoting denominational affiliations. It is our deepest passion and greatest joy to see Christ exalted among the nations.

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”  Psalms 46:10 ESV

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.”  Colossians 1:15-20 ESV

When are services?

We are one church with two services. We have Sunday services at 9:30am and 11:00am.  Both of these services are identical and offer the same worship and teaching experience. In lieu of Sunday night services, we meet as Community Groups to grow together as a Biblical community in an intimate home setting.
